Woohoo! Here are the scary black clouds that Fairbanks never sees, but the fun part was after these suckers passed through. :-D Second day in a row of a decent tstorm. There was a close strike of lightning just at the end of my street.
Here is a map of daily lightning strikes by BLM. I love this thing, it is live lightning data. As you can see, contrary to popular belief, AK actually gets a lot of thunderstorms.
